Gravity Network is the follow-up to a project of the same name that ran from 2020 to 2023 and that was implemented by three Electronic Music Venues – Ankali (CZ), Jasna 1 (PL) and RSO (DE) and was supported by the Creative Europe programme. The present project will add two new partners – Garage Nord (NL) and Mutant Radio (GE). The aim of the project is to develop Electronic Music Culture by building an expanding network of Electronic Music Venues that further connect artists, industry professionals and other organisations across Europe and beyond. The project’s main objective is to stimulate the transnational circulation of artists through several activities developed for the purpose. Gravity prioritises young emerging talents, develops their careers through international appearances at partnering music venues, thus contributing to the amplification of selected local scenes. The secondary focus of the project is to provide opportunities to project participants (artists and industry professionals) for professional development through its educational activities. A particular focus within these activities will be put on artist a professional development and environmental and economic sustainability of the Electronic Music Culture. An underlying principle of the project is balancing urban centers and peripheries on both the geographical and the social levels. Electronic Music cultures from under-developed cultural sectors, primarily from countries of Central & Eastern Europe and non-EU states, will work with operators from the developed scene of Western Europe. The project seeks to improve representation and diversity of the European Electronic Music Culture by giving a voice to artists and industry professionals from marginalised communities throughout the project’s activities.
